With its snow-capped mountains and sparkling inlet dotted with sailboats - our hometown of Vancouver is the second stop on our Fleurs de Villes ROSÉ trail. This jewel of a city on Canada’s West Coast provides the perfect backdrop for our next show from June 11 to June 20 - and it’s our biggest show to date! You’ll find 50 pink-themed ROSÉ floral mannequins and installations including flower-bombed cars and phone booths, plus selfie-worthy swings, arches and doorways dotted around the downtown core. More than 25 local florists will collaborate with sponsors on our ROSÉ theme to support the Breast Cancer Society of Canada, and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

After exploring our extensive downtown trail, save some time to shop and dine in this small city known for its international appeal. If you haven’t visited us in a while, here are some of our favourite activities in a city known for its glorious outdoors appeal and global play.

STAY: There’s no shortage of world class hotels in the intimate downtown district. All are within easy walking distance to our ROSÉ trail, plus shopping, dining and exploring. Down at the waterfront with its epic mountain views and seaside activities, you’ll find the Fairmont Waterfront Centre and the Fairmont Pacific Rim. We’re delighted to host the Panabode Rosé Cottage at the Waterfront Hotel, and then a set of blooming arches at Jack Poole Plaza - sight of the world-famous Olympic Cauldron - steps from the Fairmont Pacific Rim. Both hotels are minutes away from the start of the Seawall, the 28km long paved pathway around nearby Stanley Park that attracts runners, cyclists and power walkers year ‘round.

Closer to the heart of downtown, but less than a ten minute walk south and just steps to Robson and Alberni Street shops and CF Pacific Centre, you can check into the classic Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, a city landmark with its signature peaked roof, or the cosy Sutton Place Hotel. You’ll find everything you need - shopping, dining, spa relaxation and workout facilities - right at your doorstep.

SHOP: Individual style reigns in Vancouver. While the city may be known for its laid back casual  fashion - it’s the creative home of some of the world’s leading tech-savvy sportswear - it also shows off an ultra-luxe fashion side. Both attitudes - and everything in between - are available at the one-stop shop of CF Pacific Centre that stretches over three city blocks, and includes Canada’s top luxury department store Holt Renfrew. From fine jewellery to coveted logo handbags, the world’s finest designer boutiques are clustered around the outdoor shopping promenade of Robson and Alberni Streets.

DINE: Vancouver has a reputation for global cuisine and fine dining that includes some of the best fish from the Pacific Northwest and mouth-watering sushi. For a special night out, reserve your spot at Hawksworth Restaurant in the Rosewood Hotel; Notch8 in the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver; or Botanist in the Fairmont Pacific Rim. We also love the family style dining of small plates and woodfire oven pizza at Nightingale. Chef David Hawksworth will also feature a ROSÉ menu at Nightingale.

CULTURE: Locals connect in the north and south plazas of the Vancouver Art Gallery, the largest public art museum in Western Canada that features the work of contemporary artists from around the world and historical art of cultural significance. It also provides a global platform for British Columbia’s arts community including First Nations artists and the Institute of Asian Art that was established in 2014. There will be several exhibitions to check out including Vancouver Special: Disorientations and Echo which is the second in a series spotlighting contemporary art in the region.

BLOOM: With our roots here in Vancouver, our network of florists is deep. And there’s nothing we love more than to send a thank you bouquet to someone who made an experience extraordinary. More than 25 local floral studios will be participating in creating installations and a handful will craft bouquets for purchase in our Sunday ROSÉ flower markets.

GARDENS: A mild climate with plenty of rain makes Vancouver the ideal place for flowers to bloom three seasons of the year. From late March to October, local parks and gardens (and city neighbourhoods!) are covered in flowers. Some of our favourite parks to visit include VanDusen Botanical Gardens; the University of British Columbia Botanical Gardens; Queen Elizabeth Park; and the world renowned Stanley Park with its forests and Seawall.

How to get here: Fly into Vancouver International Airport, pick up a rental car and you’ll be downtown in less than half an hour (outside of peak traffic times). Or better yet, hop on the Skytrain (the station is in the airport) and take the Canada Line through the city. You’ll find four convenient downtown stops - Granville, Waterfront, Burrard and Vancouver City Centre - in the Fleurs de Villes ROSÉ neighbourhood. And while you’re in town, pick up a Mobi by ShawGo - you’ll see their bright blue bikes at stands in strategic spots around downtown.
