LE MONDE

Fleurs de Villes invites you to raise a bouquet to launch ROSÉ, our glorious 2021 fresh floral celebration in support of breast cancer research.

Karen Marshall and Tina Barkley, our founders, are honoured to announce that Fleurs de Villes ROSÉ, our 2021 show series, will support breast cancer research in five countries and more than a dozen cities.

Breast cancer touches so many lives – it knows no age, gender or race. According to the World Cancer Research Fund International (WCRFI) it’s the most common cancer in women, and the second most common cancer overall. Globally breast cancer represents one in four of all cancers in women. Nearly two million women around the globe were diagnosed with new breast cancer cases in 2018. Fleurs de Villes ROSÉ was launched to help fund research through sponsorship and fundraising in each city of our 2021 show schedule. Our theme was inspired by many of our Fleuristes (participating florists) who have shown their support in the past for the cause by dedicating their mannequins at previous shows to loved ones on their breast cancer treatment journey.

Fleurs de Villes is also an official partner globally of BCRF, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, founded by Evelyn H. Lauder in 1993. Daughter-in-law of the legendary Estee Lauder, Evelyn dedicated the non-profit foundation to ending breast cancer by advancing the world’s most promising research. Every major breakthrough in breast cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment and survivorship has included the work of BCRF-funded investigators. The largest private funder of breast cancer research worldwide, BCRF awarded $40 million in annual grants to 275 scientists from top universities and medical institutions around the globe in 2020-2021.

Fleurs de Villes ROSÉ will continue this vitally important mission, through sponsorship promotion and fundraising, in each city from our worldwide launch in March at Bal Harbour Shops in Bal Harbour Florida, to additional North American cities including New York, Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Seattle and Costa Mesa. Shows in the United Kingdom, South Africa and Australia will follow. Fleurs de Villes ROSÉ will work with breast cancer research organizations – the Breast Cancer Society of Canada is one example – for a truly inclusive approach, bringing increased visibility and awareness to this cause that’s so close to our hearts.

Why ROSÉ? When we think pink, global breast cancer research instantly comes to mind. Pink symbolizes calm and tenderness but with a playful and life-affirming spirit. And it’s one of the most glorious shades in the flower world. Fleurs de Villes ROSÉ will highlight this feminine shade in a variety of fresh floral installations such as “flower-bombed” automobiles, swings, doorways and a dozen or more of our beloved mannequins, plus a fundraising Flower Market, content “jardin”, and variety of delightful drinks and treats with a floral twist.

Every ROSÉ-inspired pink-blooming mannequin and every installation will be different and unique to each city. And every celebration will follow our proven track record of producing a delightful show in full compliance with COVID restrictions.

Fleurs de Villes ROSÉ, our first globally themed celebration, takes root in the fertile foundation of the past four years. We have created more than 35 one-of-a-kind fresh flower shows viewed by millions of people - 16 major cities in three countries with more than 350 of the world’s favourite florists.

Stay tuned for more exciting news and confirmed dates as Fleurs de Villes ROSÉ travels around the world.
